  3. Hi everyone!

the 4th of july is the Independence Day of the US, isn't it? In Germany there is something which is similar to it: the Reunion of Germany which is celebrated on the 3rd of october. But actually that's not the day of the "Fall of the Wall"
But now something completely different which is really typical for Germany. Everbody in our neighborhood has at least one garden gnome living on his piece of land. The only exception is the area around our house, but the exception proves the rule^^ In Germany there are many of these little monsters, grinning at you in all kinds of colors and poses. Some of them carry watering cans, others just sit between the flowers. Having no garden is no probleme: in cities the gnoms are living on the balconies. But they have spread all over the world.^^ In the last years quite a lot of these creatures have been exported to other countries. Are there also some of them in America? oh, now I have written quite a lot...^^

  4. In my opinion the most typical thing for germany are the dialects. This counts especially for bavaria, where I live in.
Here the dialect is strongly associated with the traditions. Every part of germany has his own dialect and culture, so it's hard to say what is typical german. I would probably go for the high percentage of furniture-shops ;)

  5. Yeah I agree with Lucas :) Germany wouldn't bee the same without it's dialects. I think if you live in Bavaria you should understand the bavarian dialect. I think it's funny that all the people in Germany seem to hate other dialects but their own :) In my opinion the worst dialects are the ones spoken in Saxony and Berlin :) but that's my opinion :)

@ Magdalena: great thought, I would have never thought of them little creatures but they are great and very cute ;)
In fact we had about 4 once and they were really big but they broke... :( You can see them anywhere and everywhere :)
